Heng is licensed as an Independent Mental Health Counselor, certified as a disordered gambling counselor and provisionally licensed as a drug and alcohol counselor. She graduated with a Master’s of Science in Community Counseling in 2012 from the University of Nebraska in Omaha. She has been practicing since 2012.
She enjoys working with adolescents and adults in individual, couple, and family settings. Through counseling, she seeks to engage you in the process of positive change by developing the skills needed to deal with and heal from life’s difficult situations, gain insight into your experiences, and empower you to achieve your goals and maintain personal growth. She believes a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of a successful counseling experience and enjoy building these relationships with individuals, couples, and families so we can start working together toward change.
Dr. Heng areas of interest are gambling addiction, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief or loss, life transitions, trauma, stress, family conflict, addictions, and self-esteem issues. However, she enjoys working with individuals struggling with any issue if she and the individual agree that she can be of assistance to them.
She is a GAP-certified problem gambling counselor, which allows her to offer care to those struggling with a gambling problem and their family at no charge.
