The full evaluation process usually takes several weeks from start to finish. This includes:

Final reports are typically completed approximately 4–8 weeks after the feedback appointment.

– Answer questions
Depending on the type of evaluation, the intake may involve:

Is the intake appointment virtual or in person?

At your appointment time:

How do I join telehealth appointments with Dr. River Williams?
At your appointment time:
– You will be sent a zoom link to the email on file or through secure messaging
Can testing be completed virtually?
Yes, many evaluations can be completed virtually if technology requirements are met.
Virtual testing requirements:
– A laptop or desktop computer
– A working camera and microphone
– Stable internet connection
– Phones and tablets will not work for testing.
If you do not have access to the required technology or would prefer to do it at the office, in-person testing can be scheduled.
What happens during testing?
Testing appointments involve structured psychological testing tailored to the referral concerns and individual needs.
Possible areas assessed may include:
– Attention and executive functioning
– Learning and academic skills
– Memory and processing
– Autism-related traits
– Emotional functioning
– Adaptive functioning
– Social communication
– Behavioral functioning
– Sensory concerns
Some individuals may require more than one testing session depending on the complexity of the evaluation.
Will there be forms or questionnaires to complete?
Yes. Questionnaires and rating scales are a required part of the evaluation process.
These forms:
– Are sent directly to your email
– Must be completed before your “feedback” appointment
– May also be sent to teachers, therapists, partners, or other collateral reporters if appropriate
If required forms are not completed, appointments may need to be rescheduled.
Why do you ask for a secondary reporter?
Part of the evaluation process involves gathering information from someone who knows the individual well.
This may include:
– A parent
– Partner
– Friend
– Teacher
– Family member
– Therapist
This person completes questionnaires only and does not attend appointments unless specifically requested.
What should I bring to my/my child’s appointment?
Helpful records may include:
– Previous evaluations
– IEP or 504 plans
– Therapy records
– School testing
– Medical records
Records can be uploaded through the MYIO portal or brought to the office.
What happens during the feedback appointment?
During the feedback appointment, the provider will:
– Review results

– Answer questions
Feedback appointments may occur through telehealth or in person.
How do I receive the final report?
Before your report can be released, a release form must be completed.
Once completed, reports may be:
