Background
Dr. River Williams, PhD, LP (they/them) is a transgender, neurodivergent psychologist. They earned their doctorate in School Psychology from Louisiana State University. Dr. River completed their pre-doctoral internship at the Munroe-Meyer Institute in the Lifespan Developmental Disabilities Clinic before training under Dr. Diane Marti for their post-doctoral experience. Dr. River also sought out additional training in gender-affirming services for transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals.
Professional Interests and Assessment Approach
Dr. River Williams, PhD, LP specializes in services for autistic adolescents and adults. They enjoy providing diagnostic evaluation services for neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Intellectual Disability throughout the lifespan. They also assess for co-occurring mental health concerns, such as anxiety and depression. Additionally, Dr. River specializes in autism assessments for transgender/gender-nonconforming individuals. They have a passion for serving neurodivergent individuals who are transgender or gender-nonconforming (i.e., autigender individuals). Dr. River is enthusiastic about helping autigender individuals navigate the overlap of their various identities to live a more fulfilling, authentic life.
