Cheryl Ratliff, PLMHP currently has a private practice located at Williamsburg Behavioral Psychology. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree at York College (now York University) of York Nebraska, and her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Expressive Arts from Lesley University of Cambridge Massachusetts. Cheryl’s professional goals include earning a doctorate in neuroscience, and studying the way trauma effects brain structures and their functioning.
Cheryl has a passion for serving individuals who have experienced trauma, particularly complex PTSD presentations, and other trauma-related disorders. Cheryl’s approach involves a clientfocused method, utilizing somatic and expressive arts techniques, principles of positive psychology, neurobiology, and body-based healing methods. Through these approaches, Cheryl supports individuals as they work on managing symptoms related to current and past traumatic experiences, while helping the client develop a sense of purpose and connection with oneself and one’s life.
Cheryl is able to provide individual services to adults ages 18 and up. She also works with individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, suicidality and self-harming behaviors, grief, self-esteem issues, and addiction. She is currently serving individuals with autism spectrum disorder and ADHD, and understands the ways that these disorders interconnect with experiences of trauma.
